*You need:
-A sponge (new, about .98 cents at Walmart)
-2-3 Abstract, bright nail polish colors
-A piece of white (we suggest printer) paper
-A black or white base coat. White works best for blues, greens and purples. Black works best with oranges, yellows and reds. We chose white.
*Directions: Cut your sponge into small pieces to fit your nail size.
-Use the "brillo" (or "rough") side of the sponge.
-Choose contrasting colors that will stand out against each other. We chose orange, blue and pink on a white base coat.
-Flatten out a piece of thick paper (again we suggest printer paper) on a smooth surface.
-Pour a little of each color onto the paper to where they are just barely touching. (See picture below)
-Paint on your base coat. (See below)
-After your base coat is dry VERY LIGHTLY dip your sponge into the colors so that all the colors get on the sponge. (See below)
-Lightly press the sponge onto the nail and cover to your liking.
Forgive the orange smudge, we do touch ups with cotton swabs and polish remover but I forgot before I snapped the photo lol. |
*For a full on bold 2 tone look, use the spongy side of the sponge and dip it in 2 colors and press it on your nail. (See below)
-*Or for a simple, easy, QUICK (I mean quick this dries super fast) leave your nail bare with no base coat and dip the brillo side of the sponge in the colors and press on bare nail. (See below)
